Welcome to West Hardin Child Nutrition
The West Hardin CCISD Child Nutrition Department consists of childnutrition professionals that are dedicated to student's health, wellbeing, and their ability to learn. We support learning by promotinghealthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.
The Food and Nutrition Service, under the United States Department ofAgriculture (USDA) , administers the National School Lunch and NationalSchool Breakfast programs at the federal level. At the state level, theChild Nutrition Programs are administered in public schools by theTexas Department of Agriculture, (TDA) , which operates the programthrough agreements with the school food authorities. Schoolsparticipating in the Child Nutrition Program are required to cooperatewith USDA and TDA officials.
West Hardin CCISD kitchen was visited by the Hardin County HealthInspector on September 3, 2013 and March 5, 2014 . The Cafeteriareceived a perfect score of "100". Our campus kitchen has received aperfect score of "100" over the last eight years. We are inspected twicea year by the health inspector.

Healthy,Hunger-Free Kids Act
On February 27th, 2013 , the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) announced that the West Hardin Food Service Department has completedall necessary requirements to show compliance with the Healthy,Hunger-Free Kids Act (HHFKA) and has received its certification.
TDA commends West Hardin's efforts to ensure meals served in theNational School Lunch Program( NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP)align with the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and recommendationsfrom the Institute of Medicine.
