Dear Parents, Students and our West Hardin Community,
It looks like the worst of the cold weather has passed and we will be moving into our spring sports schedule shortly. Spring is always a busy time for our staff and students as they prepare for UIL activities, TAKS testing, the Prom and Graduation. A major part of our yearly testing will take place the first week of March. Our students are well prepared and will have the opportunity to do some reviewing on February 8th and 9th. These will be Flex days for our district which means selected students will come on those days to receive additional help in various academic areas. We will dismiss at 1:30 on both days. We also have spring break coming up beginning March 8th. We have had many exciting things going on that have involved our students. 15 of our elementary GT students are having their original poems published, our Middle School received an award as a 2009 Higher Performing School presented by the National Center for Educational Achievement's, and many of our elementary and middle school students placed in UIL competition held in December. This is just a small snapshot of the wonderful things that go on daily at West Hardin. If you would like more information about our school or upcoming events, please call 274-5061.
