I found the article quite interesting. I especially liked the section about having an official scribe of the day. That helps the students to learn to work together instead of separately. I also like the daily researcher. I know there are many times a student asks me a question that I need to look up the answer and I often forget because I can't stop right then. Having someone look up the answers each day is a lot easier and more beneficial because it will more than likely be done every time.

I see where several of these "jobs" could be very beneficial to older students in completing assignments (offical scribes, researchers, and collaboration coordinators).  Having this information readily available would help them be more successful.  Using technology to achieve this is much faster than the old fasioned way.

I feel that technology could

I feel that technology could be used more in our classrooms.  I think the children will benefit and enjoy the information gained.

I agree with the other elementary teacher blogs....seems very challenging as a second grade teacher to teach the digital learners in today's society.  But I know computers are here to stay, so we will have to get on board.  My mom even has a my-space, she has now passed me up!  Students have an endless amout of information available to them via internet.  I see it as both good and bad.

Never really thought about how much children's roles have changed with technological and mechanical advances. They don't contribute to society the way they used to. But with all of this computer technology they are really passing people like me up! There are lots of ways they can create and share using the web, just don't ask me how! Glad I teach 1st grade! Pressure's on you high school teachers! If anyone thinks of something we could do in lower grades let me know. The last statement is very true..."If we don't teach students social responsibility and ethics, then our worst fears of children abusing (this technology) will come true.

The article just made me feel like I'm not doing enough to move my students into the future.
