In an effort to enhance communication between school and parents, we have set up an elementary twitter. We will send periodic reminders as well as campus information that you may receive in the form of a text message on your cell phone. West Hardin teachers of Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies have been using the CSCOPE curriculum for the last 1 1/2 years. We have added the "Year at a Glance" to the Curriculum and Parent web site so parents can view what their child is learning each six weeks. CSCOPE has now added an online parent portal where parents can go to learn more about the components of CSCOPE. Currently, there are three videos (one each on vertical alignment, the Instructional Focus Document, and the 5 E model), helpful websites for parents in each content area, and access to the concepts and key understandings for every unit in each content area at each grade level (just click on the subject and grade level from the drop-down list). In the future, CSCOPE will be adding sections with frequently asked questions, additional videos, and other helpful information for parents.
